I do
Should mean forever
But
Forever is made days short
As people are making empty promises
They are not ready to keep
It is a recurring story of
People not believing in what they recite
And
Breaking vows said in view of Christ
After the honeymoon bubble
Has burst
And
Everything goes sideways
And
Gets worse
And
Money vanishes before its made
Stress shatters the nest egg
And
Sickness consumes someone’s health
Forcing hope into dread
And
Selfishness to come to a head
As someone says they are done
Slipping out the back door
Without a word
A good bye
Letting fear make them into a coward
On the the run
